Avoylo Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy

This Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy defines what inventory may not be placed into the Avoylo network and what inventory requires explicit Avoylo approval before submission.

Avoylo's initial operating model uses ordinary local Host storage and ordinary parcel-carrier fulfillment. It is not a general-purpose hazardous-materials, regulated-goods, cold-chain, medical, weapons, controlled-substance, or special-security logistics service.

A product being lawful to own or sell does not mean Avoylo is required to store or fulfill it. Avoylo may impose rules that are more restrictive than applicable law or a carrier's general rules.

Where a carrier, law, regulator, destination, service level, or other applicable rule is more restrictive than this Policy, the more restrictive requirement controls for the affected shipment or inventory.

This Policy operates together with the Avoylo Operations Policy, Seller Services Policy, Host Services Policy, Seller Packing & Inbound Standards, Shipping & Carrier Policy, Claims & Protection Policy, Billing & Payment Terms, and applicable agreements.

1. Core Rule

A Seller must not send an item into the Avoylo network unless the item is:

  1. lawful to possess, store, sell, and transport through the intended route;
  2. permitted by this Policy;
  3. compatible with Avoylo's enabled service;
  4. compatible with the assigned Host Location;
  5. compatible with the applicable carrier and service level;
  6. accurately declared; and
  7. packaged and identified as required.

If the Seller is uncertain whether an item is permitted, the Seller must treat it as restricted and obtain Avoylo approval before sending it.

A Host's willingness to receive an item does not override this Policy.

2. Policy Categories

Inventory falls into one of four operating categories:

A. PROHIBITED

The item must not be sent into the Avoylo network under the applicable service.

B. RESTRICTED — PRIOR APPROVAL REQUIRED

The item may be supported only if Avoylo expressly approves the category, route, Host capability, packaging, carrier, or other required conditions before inbound shipment.

C. GENERALLY ELIGIBLE

The item is not categorically prohibited or restricted under this Policy, but it must still satisfy all other Avoylo, carrier, packaging, safety, legal, and service requirements.

D. UNKNOWN / UNCLASSIFIED

If Avoylo cannot reliably determine the category from the available information, the item is treated as restricted until resolved.

3. Avoylo May Be More Restrictive Than the Carrier

Some carriers lawfully transport categories that Avoylo does not support.

For example, a carrier may offer specialized dangerous-goods, alcohol, biological-material, firearm, temperature-controlled, or other restricted services under separate contractual or regulatory conditions.

That does not make those items eligible for ordinary Avoylo Host storage.

An item is eligible only if both Avoylo and the applicable carrier/service permit it.

4. Carrier Approval Does Not Equal Avoylo Approval

A Seller must not rely solely on:

Avoylo approval must come through the applicable Avoylo workflow where prior approval is required.

5. Illegal Goods — PROHIBITED

The following are prohibited:

A Seller must not use Avoylo to conceal the origin, ownership, destination, or legal status of inventory.

6. Explosives and Explosive Devices — PROHIBITED

Avoylo does not support explosives in the ordinary Host network.

7. Firearms and Ammunition — PROHIBITED

The initial Avoylo service does not accept:

The Seller must not attempt to avoid this rule by describing a regulated firearm item as "sporting goods," "metal parts," "collectibles," or another generic category.

8. Weapons and Weapon-Like Goods — RESTRICTED OR PROHIBITED

The following are prohibited unless Avoylo expressly creates a supported category:

Ordinary lawful kitchen tools or non-weapon household cutting tools may be eligible if safely packaged and otherwise permitted.

9. Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

The ordinary Avoylo Host network does not support an item that is regulated for the intended transportation as hazardous material or dangerous goods unless Avoylo expressly approves that exact category under a specialized supported workflow.

This includes materials requiring special hazardous-material:

A Seller must not send such inventory into the ordinary network merely because the item is commonly sold online.

10. Flammable and Combustible Materials — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

Examples include:

An ordinary consumer product is not exempt from this Policy merely because it is sold at retail.

11. Aerosols and Pressurized Containers — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

The initial service does not support pressurized or aerosol products unless Avoylo expressly approves the category.

12. Compressed, Liquefied, or Cryogenic Gases — PROHIBITED

Examples include:

13. Corrosive, Oxidizing, Toxic, or Reactive Chemicals — PROHIBITED

The ordinary Avoylo network does not support substances classified or reasonably known to present corrosive, oxidizing, toxic, poison, reactive, water-reactive, or similar chemical hazards requiring specialized transport or storage.

Examples may include:

14. Hazardous Waste and Regulated Waste — PROHIBITED

Avoylo does not accept:

Avoylo is not a waste-disposal or hazardous-waste logistics service.

15. Radioactive Materials — PROHIBITED

The ordinary Avoylo network does not accept radioactive materials, radioactive sources, nuclear materials, or products requiring radioactive-material transportation controls.

16. Lithium Batteries and Battery Products — RESTRICTED

Battery transportation rules vary based on battery chemistry, energy rating, whether the battery is installed in equipment, packaging, condition, quantity, carrier, and transport mode.

For the initial Avoylo service:

A Seller must accurately disclose battery-containing products when requested.

17. Damaged, Defective, or Recalled Batteries — PROHIBITED

A Seller must not submit a battery or battery-powered product if the battery is known or reasonably suspected to be:

18. Dry Ice and Refrigerants — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

The ordinary Host network does not support inventory requiring dry ice, wet ice, gel refrigerants requiring controlled replenishment, active refrigeration, or another cold-chain mechanism unless Avoylo expressly enables that service.

Dry ice may itself be subject to transportation requirements and must not be introduced into the ordinary Avoylo workflow without approval.

19. Temperature-Controlled and Perishable Goods — PROHIBITED

The initial Avoylo service does not support products that require refrigeration, freezing, controlled heat, or another specified storage temperature to remain safe or saleable.

Prohibited examples include:

A product must not be submitted merely because it is expected to "probably be fine" at room temperature.

20. Shelf-Stable Food and Consumables — RESTRICTED

Commercially sealed, shelf-stable food may be considered only where Avoylo supports the category and the Seller satisfies applicable food, labeling, expiration, storage, recall, and other requirements.

Unless Avoylo explicitly enables the category, the following are restricted:

Avoylo may require expiration or best-by information, lot information, commercial packaging, minimum remaining shelf life, or other controls before approval.

21. Alcohol — PROHIBITED

The initial Avoylo service does not accept alcoholic beverages or beverage alcohol, including:

This rule applies even where a Seller or carrier may otherwise be licensed or permitted to ship alcohol.

22. Tobacco, Nicotine, and Vaping Products — PROHIBITED

The initial Avoylo service does not accept:

23. Cannabis, Marijuana, THC, and Similar Products — PROHIBITED

Avoylo does not accept marijuana or cannabis products, including products represented as medical marijuana.

The initial Avoylo service also does not accept:

Hemp or CBD products that are lawful in some circumstances are still prohibited unless Avoylo later expressly enables a supported category.

24. Controlled Substances and Illegal Drugs — PROHIBITED

Avoylo does not accept:

25. Prescription Drugs and Regulated Medical Products — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

The initial Avoylo service does not support prescription drugs or products requiring licensed pharmaceutical distribution, controlled storage, chain-of-custody, patient-specific handling, or other specialized medical compliance.

Unless Avoylo expressly enables a specialized category, restricted or prohibited products include:

26. Ordinary OTC Health Products — RESTRICTED

Over-the-counter medicines, first-aid products, ordinary medical devices, cosmetics making regulated therapeutic claims, or similar health products may be eligible only where Avoylo expressly supports the product category.

Approval may depend on:

27. Human Remains and Human Biological Material — PROHIBITED

The ordinary Avoylo network does not accept:

28. Live Animals — PROHIBITED

Avoylo does not accept live animals, insects, fish, reptiles, birds, mammals, or other living creatures through the ordinary Host network.

29. Animal Remains and Biological Specimens — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

The ordinary Avoylo network does not accept:

Ordinary finished, lawful, nonhazardous consumer goods of animal origin are not automatically prohibited solely because an animal-derived material is present, but applicable wildlife and trade restrictions still apply.

30. Plants, Seeds, Soil, and Agricultural Articles — RESTRICTED

Plants, seeds, soil, agricultural products, and other items subject to plant-health, quarantine, invasive-species, agricultural, or destination restrictions require prior Avoylo approval.

The ordinary network must not be used to bypass agricultural inspection or quarantine requirements.

31. Wildlife and Protected Species Products — PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED

The Seller must not submit goods that are unlawful under wildlife, endangered-species, conservation, import, export, or trade restrictions.

Examples may include:

Where lawful trade requires permits or specialized documentation, Avoylo approval is required before submission.

32. Cash and Monetary Instruments — PROHIBITED

Avoylo does not accept physical currency or equivalent high-risk monetary instruments through the ordinary network.

Prohibited examples include:

33. Gift Cards and Stored-Value Products — RESTRICTED

Gift cards, prepaid cards, stored-value cards, activation codes embodied in physical goods, and similar products are restricted because of theft and fraud risk.

Avoylo approval is required before submission.

Digital-only codes are outside the ordinary physical fulfillment model unless Avoylo expressly supports them.

34. Precious Metals, Gems, and High-Value Jewelry — PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED

The initial ordinary Host network does not support loose precious stones, bullion, significant quantities of precious metals, or exceptionally high-value jewelry.

Lower-value ordinary jewelry may be eligible only within Avoylo's applicable declared-value and claims limits.

Avoylo may impose stricter value limits by product category, Host tier, carrier, or service level.

35. High-Value Inventory — RESTRICTED

Avoylo may impose a maximum value per Parcel, Placement, Host Location, or Seller.

Inventory above the applicable value threshold requires prior approval and may require:

A Seller must not understate value to avoid a high-value restriction.

The current public or pilot value threshold, if any, must be stated in the applicable pricing, claims, or service documentation before enforcement.

36. Original Identity and Government Documents — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

The ordinary network does not accept original high-risk identity or legal documents such as:

Ordinary printed commercial documents may be eligible where otherwise lawful and appropriate.

37. Sensitive Financial or Authentication Devices — RESTRICTED

The following may require prior approval:

38. Adult or Sexually Explicit Products — RESTRICTED

Lawful adult products may be subject to category, age-restriction, carrier, packaging, privacy, or local-law requirements.

The initial Avoylo service may restrict or decline adult products unless the category is expressly supported.

Illegal sexual content, exploitative material, or any content involving minors is prohibited.

39. Obscene, Exploitative, or Illegal Content — PROHIBITED

Avoylo does not accept physical goods containing content whose possession or distribution is unlawful.

This includes child sexual abuse material and other illegal exploitative content.

Avoylo may take preservation, reporting, restriction, or law-enforcement cooperation steps where required by law.

40. Gambling and Lottery Instruments — RESTRICTED

Lottery tickets, gambling instruments, regulated wagering products, or other physical items whose distribution is subject to gambling law require prior approval and may be prohibited by route or jurisdiction.

Ordinary non-wagering games are not restricted merely because they resemble games of chance.

41. Pesticides and Agricultural Chemicals — PROHIBITED BY DEFAULT

The ordinary Avoylo network does not support pesticides, herbicides, fumigants, concentrated agricultural chemicals, or other chemical products that require specialized hazardous-material, environmental, labeling, or storage compliance.

An ordinary consumer product is not automatically permitted merely because it is sold in retail stores.

42. Cleaning Products, Cosmetics, and Household Chemicals — CONDITIONAL

Nonhazardous ordinary consumer products in these categories may be eligible.

However, a product becomes restricted or prohibited if it is subject to dangerous-goods or hazardous-material requirements or presents leakage, flammability, aerosol, corrosive, oxidizing, poison, or other special handling risk.

Examples requiring careful classification may include:

The Seller must accurately classify the product rather than assume all consumer-packaged household goods are ordinary nonhazardous Parcels.

43. Liquids — RESTRICTED

Ordinary nonhazardous, commercially sealed liquids may be eligible only where Avoylo supports the category and packaging is reasonably leak-resistant.

Liquids are prohibited or restricted when they are:

Avoylo may impose quantity, secondary-containment, packaging, or carrier restrictions.

44. Powders and Granular Substances — RESTRICTED

Commercially packaged nonhazardous powders or granular goods may be eligible where the product category is supported.

Unknown powders, unlabeled powders, leaking powders, regulated chemicals, explosive powders, controlled substances, or powders requiring special transport classification are prohibited.

Avoylo may require clear commercial identification and secure packaging.

45. Magnets and Strong Magnetic Materials — RESTRICTED

Strong magnets or magnetized materials may be subject to carrier or air-transport restrictions.

The Seller must obtain Avoylo approval where the product's magnetic properties create a transportation classification or carrier restriction.

Ordinary weak consumer magnets may be eligible where otherwise permitted.

46. Pressurized Sports and Outdoor Products — RESTRICTED

Products containing compressed gas, fuel, pyrotechnic components, chemical inflators, or other regulated components are prohibited unless expressly supported.

Examples may include:

47. Automotive Products — RESTRICTED

Automotive parts themselves are not categorically prohibited.

However, products containing or contaminated with regulated fuels, oils, airbags, batteries, refrigerants, hazardous chemicals, pressurized components, or other dangerous goods may be prohibited or require approval.

Used parts containing residual fluids may be declined.

48. Used, Refurbished, and Previously Opened Goods — RESTRICTED

The initial Avoylo model is optimized for Seller-prepared customer-ready sealed Parcels.

Used, refurbished, returned, or previously opened products may be supported only where:

A Host is not responsible for independently authenticating or grading the condition of a sealed used or refurbished product.

49. Products With Expiration Dates — RESTRICTED

Products with expiration, use-by, best-by, shelf-life, lot, or date-code requirements may require prior approval.

Avoylo may require:

A Seller must not knowingly submit expired inventory or inventory with insufficient remaining shelf life for the enabled service.

50. Recalled Products — PROHIBITED UNLESS EXPRESSLY CLEARED

A Seller must not submit or continue ordinary fulfillment of a product that is subject to a recall, stop-sale, or corrective action that prevents continued distribution.

If a recall arises after inventory enters the network, the Seller must notify Avoylo promptly.

Avoylo may block allocation, quarantine affected inventory operationally, and require return, removal, or another authorized disposition.

A recalled product may return to normal fulfillment only if the applicable law, recall remedy, and Avoylo workflow permit it.

51. Damaged or Leaking Inventory — PROHIBITED FROM NORMAL FLOW

A Parcel that is visibly leaking, materially damaged, emitting fumes, contaminated, or otherwise apparently unsafe must not enter or remain in normal fulfillment.

The affected Parcel must enter the applicable discrepancy, quarantine, safety, return, or removal workflow.

A Seller must not conceal damage through repackaging that misrepresents the actual condition or hazard.

52. Unknown Contents — PROHIBITED FROM NORMAL FLOW

A Parcel whose contents or category cannot be reasonably identified when identification is required must not be accepted as ordinary stored inventory.

The operational path is:

UNKNOWN → REVIEW → classification / correction / return / removal / other authorized disposition

The Host must not open an unknown Parcel merely to identify it unless Avoylo expressly authorizes a safe supported inspection process.

53. Misdeclared Inventory

A Seller must not use a generic or false description to avoid this Policy.

Examples include describing:

where the omitted information would materially affect eligibility.

Avoylo may preserve the original declaration and later correction as separate audit records.

54. Seller Duty to Determine Shipping Classification

Where a product may be regulated for transportation, the Seller is responsible for providing accurate information and performing the classification responsibilities that applicable law assigns to the Seller or other person offering the product for transportation.

Avoylo may rely on Seller-provided information where permitted, but Avoylo may reject or stop a shipment when it knows or reasonably believes the information is materially inaccurate.

Avoylo approval does not relieve the Seller of legal obligations independently imposed on the Seller.

55. Safety Data Sheets and Manufacturer Documentation

Avoylo may request:

when reasonably necessary to determine eligibility.

Providing an SDS or manufacturer document does not automatically make the product eligible.

The actual product classification, packaging, carrier rules, and Avoylo support status control.

56. Restricted-Item Approval

Where Avoylo supports a restricted category, approval may be conditioned on:

Approval for one SKU, Placement, route, or shipment does not automatically approve another.

57. No Retroactive Approval

A Seller must obtain required approval before sending restricted inventory.

Sending the item first and asking for approval later does not make the shipment valid.

Avoylo may refuse, quarantine, return, remove, or otherwise restrict unauthorized inventory.

58. Approval May Be Revoked or Changed Prospectively

Avoylo may prospectively stop supporting a restricted category because of:

Where already accepted physical inventory is affected, Avoylo will use the applicable hold, return, transfer, removal, or other resolution workflow rather than silently treating the product as ordinary eligible inventory.

59. Host Must Not Independently Approve Restricted Goods

A Host cannot waive this Policy.

A Host must not tell a Seller that a prohibited or restricted item is allowed merely because the Host is personally comfortable storing it.

If the Host suspects that inventory is prohibited, restricted, materially misdeclared, leaking, or unsafe, the Host must use the applicable incident or discrepancy workflow.

60. Host Handling of Suspected Prohibited Inventory

A Host must not intentionally open a Parcel merely to investigate suspected prohibited or hazardous contents.

If the Parcel appears safe to leave in place, the Host should stop ordinary processing and follow Avoylo's instructions.

If the Parcel appears to create an immediate safety hazard, human safety takes priority. The Host should avoid unnecessary handling and contact emergency services or other appropriate authorities where reasonably necessary.

Avoylo does not require a Host to physically move a dangerous Parcel where moving it could increase risk.

61. Quarantine of Restricted or Suspected Inventory

Avoylo may place suspected prohibited, unsafe, or materially misdeclared inventory into QUARANTINED or another blocked state.

While quarantined:

Quarantine is an operational hold and does not by itself establish legal fault.

62. Removal and Return of Ineligible Inventory

Where safe and lawful, Avoylo may require prohibited or unsupported inventory to be removed from the network.

Depending on the circumstances, the inventory may be:

Avoylo will not require an ordinary Host to perform a specialized hazardous-material disposal or transport function merely because the Seller sent an unsupported product.

63. Costs Caused by Ineligible Inventory

Unauthorized, misdeclared, prohibited, restricted, unsafe, return, transfer, specialized handling, carrier, cleanup, or removal events may create Seller charges where permitted by the Billing & Payment Terms and applicable agreements.

This Policy does not independently establish the amount of those charges.

64. Emergency Costs and Government Action

Where prohibited or unsafe inventory causes an emergency response, government action, carrier intervention, specialized cleanup, or other extraordinary handling, responsibility for resulting costs is determined under the applicable agreements and law.

The Host should not personally undertake regulated cleanup or disposal unless properly authorized and qualified.

65. Carrier Refusal

A carrier may refuse a Parcel even where Avoylo initially believed the category could be supported.

If a carrier refuses the Parcel:

66. Destination-Specific Restrictions

An item that is permitted in one state, country, territory, or carrier lane may be prohibited or restricted in another.

The Seller is responsible for materially accurate destination and product information.

Avoylo may block fulfillment based on origin, destination, local law, carrier service, or route-specific restrictions.

67. Cross-Border Inventory

Cross-border inbound or outbound inventory requires express Avoylo support for the route.

A product permitted for domestic U.S. fulfillment may still be prohibited for import or export.

Where cross-border service is enabled, the Seller must comply with applicable customs, export-control, import, sanctions, tariff, product, documentation, and carrier requirements.

68. Value, Quantity, and Concentration Limits

Avoylo may apply limits based on:

A Seller must not split or misdeclare inventory solely to evade an applicable limit.

69. Special Security Inventory

Even where an item is lawful and nonhazardous, Avoylo may require enhanced approval when inventory has unusually high theft, fraud, privacy, authentication, or resale risk.

Avoylo may require a different Host tier, lower concentration, additional evidence, or another service configuration.

70. Ordinary Eligible Goods

Subject to all other Avoylo requirements, examples of goods that may generally fit the initial Avoylo model include ordinary nonhazardous, shelf-stable, durable consumer products such as:

This is illustrative, not an automatic approval list.

A product remains ineligible if another characteristic makes it prohibited or restricted.

71. Seller Declaration at Submission

Avoylo may require the Seller to confirm before submitting or shipping inventory that:

A false confirmation may result in operational restriction under the applicable agreements.

72. No Hidden Mixed Contents

A Seller must not place a prohibited or restricted item inside a Parcel otherwise described as an eligible product.

Where a Parcel contains multiple product types, the eligibility determination applies to the entire Parcel.

If any included item requires restriction or approval, the Seller must disclose it.

73. Promotional Inserts and Samples

A Seller must not include an insert, sample, liquid, chemical, battery, ingestible, regulated product, or other additional article inside an otherwise approved Parcel if that added article would change the Parcel's eligibility.

All contents that materially affect safety, legality, transportation classification, or eligibility must be considered.

74. Changes to Product Composition or Packaging

Approval of a SKU may cease to apply if the Seller materially changes:

The Seller must obtain updated approval where required.

75. Recall and Newly Discovered Risk

If the Seller learns after submission that a product has become recalled, unsafe, prohibited, materially misclassified, or subject to a new transport restriction, the Seller must notify Avoylo promptly.

The Seller must not wait for the next order to disclose the issue.

Avoylo may immediately block normal allocation and begin the applicable review, quarantine, return, transfer, or removal process.

76. Evidence and Audit

Avoylo may retain eligibility-related records such as:

Material corrections should preserve the original record and an auditable correction where reasonably practical.

77. Enforcement

Where Avoylo reasonably believes inventory violates this Policy, Avoylo may take operational measures including:

The appropriate action depends on safety, custody, carrier, legal, and operational circumstances.

78. Repeated or Intentional Violations

Repeated, intentional, deceptive, unsafe, or severe violations may result in broader Seller restrictions or suspension under the applicable agreements.

79. Policy Updates

Product, carrier, transportation, safety, and regulatory rules change over time.

Avoylo may update this Policy and its supported-category rules.

Where legally required or contractually promised, Avoylo will provide appropriate notice before a material change becomes effective.

A prior shipment or prior approval does not guarantee that the same category will remain eligible indefinitely.
