Report the facts. Preserve the evidence.
An incident records a problem. A claim asks for a remedy. Opening either does not automatically establish liability, insurance coverage, or reimbursement.
Make the situation safe
For an immediate danger, use the appropriate local emergency service first. Avoid opening or handling a suspected unsafe parcel to gather evidence. Once safe, report what you observed and the affected parcel or task.
Provide useful context
- Parcel, inbound, order, or task reference, when available.
- What happened, when it was discovered, and the last known custody event.
- The Seller declaration and the actual observation, kept distinct.
- Relevant tracking, condition photos, and supporting value records without unrelated personal information.
Report promptly and preserve originals
Report suspected loss, damage, wrong-parcel fulfillment, or a discrepancy as soon as reasonably possible after discovery. Do not alter photos or discard packaging needed for review. Carrier or insurer deadlines can differ; use the applicable deadline rather than assuming one universal claims window.
Follow the review
Reviewers may request more information, compare custody events, or coordinate a separate carrier process. A carrier’s tracking statement and a user’s report are evidence, not automatic findings. Keep responding within the relevant process and refer to the existing case instead of opening duplicates.
Understand a resolution
A reviewed outcome may involve an operational correction, a linked financial adjustment, additional carrier recovery, or a denial with its basis. A reported retail value does not create automatic retail-price reimbursement. Customer refunds and payment disputes remain separate processes.
